I first heard about the book APE:Author Publisher Entrepreneur by Guy Kawasaki and Shawn Welch when I registered to attend the Technologically Advanced Publishing Conference TAP! 2013 in Orlando.
Guy was the keynote speaker the first morning and Shawn gave a great workshop explaining in more detail how he and Guy APE’ed their book.
Cut to the chase and APE your next book.
There are so many options for self-publishing; it’s easy to get overwhelmed with he options. But Guy and Shawn have made it simple: just follow their steps to APE your book. They walk you through each step with easy-to-follow instructions and screen shots when needed.
I had already APE’ed nine books before I read APE, and I can tell you their advice is spot on. But I also learned some new things I’m going to try on book #10. There’s even some marketing tips I’m going to try on some of my previously released books. It’s not too late to try what Guy and Shawn recommend.
For my next book (#11!) I’m going to try more of the things mentioned in APE like crowd sourcing the outline and the editing and then using Kindle Select.
APE: Author Publisher Entrepreneur is available as a Kindle ebook and in print.
